When your child is enrolled in Pomegranate Schools’ Acton Academy, they’ll begin their own hero’s journey, learning to become curious, independent, and a lifelong learner. Our Acton Academy holds to four core beliefs that we strive to instill into each of our students here in Irvine.
Each Child Has a Gift
We believe that each child has their own unique talents and passions. It is our job as educators to help them find and develop those gifts so they can change the world. Furthermore, we believe in developing the whole child– not just their intellect, but also their social, emotional, and physical needs.

Our Learning Philosophy
The Acton learning philosophy holds that “teaching” and “learning” are as loosely connected as “talking” and “understanding.” The secret to learning is determining what motivates a learner, and then allowing a student to select new challenges as he or she sees fit. We find this to be a powerful motivator. We give young heroes the option to select for themselves, and the duty to make wise decisions — as well as deal with the outcomes of poor decision making.
Family-Oriented Learning
We believe that parents are a child’s first and most important teacher. We work hard to partner with families so that we can best support each individual child’s needs and development. Families are always welcome in our schools, and we encourage them to be involved in their child’s education as much as possible.

Freedom to Believe Your Own Beliefs
We believe that one of the most important things we can offer our students is the freedom to believe in their own beliefs. We want them to question everything and be able to think for themselves. We do not endorse any one religion or philosophy, but rather we encourage students to find their own path in life.
These are just a few of the core beliefs that guide everything we do here at Pomegranate Schools’ Acton Academy. If you’re interested in learning more about our school or enrolling your child, please contact us! We would be more than happy to answer any of your questions.
