About Us
Pomegranate Preschool is a licensed, mixed-age preschool for children ages 2–5, located in the Great Park Neighborhood of Irvine. We are a small, home-based program designed to feel warm, calm, and intentional — a place where children are known, respected, and supported as they grow.
Serving Orange County families since 2017, we offer a learning environment inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia that balances structure with freedom. Our days are unhurried and thoughtfully designed, allowing children to explore, create, and learn at their own pace while developing independence, confidence, and meaningful relationships.
Children spend extended time outdoors each day, engage with real-world, natural materials, and learn through purposeful play and guided discovery. In our mixed-age setting, younger children learn by observing older peers, and older children grow in leadership and responsibility — all within a close-knit community where educators know each child well.
We believe preschool should be a place where childhood is honored. At Pomegranate, our goal is not to rush children, but to provide a steady, nurturing foundation that supports curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
The Pomegranate Child
At the heart of Pomegranate Preschool is a deep respect for each child as a unique individual. We believe children learn best when they are given time, trust, and gentle guidance to explore the world around them through play, curiosity, and meaningful experiences.
We chose the name Pomegranate because the pomegranate has long been a symbol of growth, wisdom, and abundance across many cultures. Inside each fruit are many seeds — each one small, yet full of potential.
In the same way, we see each child as a pomegranate seed. With patience, care, and a thoughtfully prepared environment, children are able to grow in confidence, independence, and joy. Our role is not to rush this process, but to nurture it — honoring each child’s natural pace and supporting their development as they grow.

At Pomegranate Preschool, we believe the environment plays an important role in how children learn and feel each day. Our space is intentionally designed to be calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully prepared, supporting focus, creativity, and a sense of belonging.
Natural light, simple color palettes, and carefully chosen materials create an atmosphere that feels peaceful rather than overstimulating. Children interact with real, open-ended materials and furniture that supports independence, movement, and collaboration.
We design our environment with great care, knowing that the spaces children spend time in shape their experiences. By creating a warm, beautiful, and well-organized setting, we help children feel secure, curious, and ready to learn.
